Moray Inca agriculture laboratory, the circles of Moray, constructed on stone in descending circles in a volcano crater, uniformly constructed 150 metres deep, which are used to adapt crops to the new ecosystem of the Andes. with an irrigation system, also being constructed with a filtration system to avoid flows and damage to crops. Itinerary

Full DayMaras Moray Salt Mines

Our transfer will visit you at your hotel between 08:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. approx. We will begin by visiting Moray which is located 38 km from the city of Cusco, Moray is considered an Inca agricultural laboratory. Which is made up of 4 muyu or circles, which are circular platforms in a concentric way, the deepest is 80 meters of depression, having the lowest platform 36 meters. in diameter Temperature variations ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 °C per platform are also found within the platforms, which can reproduce up to 20 different types of microclimates.

Next we will visit the Salineras de Maras, as their name indicates, they are salt mines made up of around 5000 small ponds producing approximately 50 to 80 kilos of salt per season. These are irrigated by an underground salt water spring, this process is completely natural and lasts almost two months for a growing season, Maras Salt is highly sought after and the highest quality variety is Rosada mineral salt. We return to Cusco where our tour ends approx. at 2:00 p.m., thus culminating our tour to the salt mines of Maras.
