Community Tourism in Maras: a watercolour village that preserves the essence of the Andes

Maras is a place that seems to have stopped in time. Its streets, full of history and tradition, preserve the rural essence that can be breathed in every corner. The ancient doors carved in stone, the donkey rides through the town and the theatrical performances in Quechua are just a sample of the cultural richness that awaits you in this magical destination.

Here you will not only be a spectator, but part of the community life. You will have the opportunity to enjoy plays that narrate local myths and legends, listen to ancestral tales, learn traditional dances such as the “marinera cusqueña” or the “era cusqueña”, and be part of the Andean music through instrument workshops. You will also be able to discover the creativity of the inhabitants in workshops of panca with corn leaves and in the making of typical hats.
